Deal volumes stayed strong in the region for quarter 1 2018, with 54 deals recorded, slightly down on 59 for the same quarter in 2017.
Deals were spread across the region, with Essex (24%), Cambridgeshire (22%) and Hertfordshire (22%) leading the way.
Over 40% of transactions reported were business sales, including our own client EDS which was acquired by MEL Group in February. Close behind were 16 fundraisings with investment from banks, crowdfunding, private investors, or share placings. 13 companies in the region made acquisitions in the period.
The transactions were spread across various sectors, with manufacturing and construction leading the way, followed by food and drink and business support services.
