East Anglia Market Monitor – Q2 2018

Quarter 2 of 2018 saw an uplift in deals with 57 recorded across East Anglia, up from 52 in the same quarter in 2017.

This quarter saw healthcare & veterinary deals in Cambridgeshire lead the way, accounting for nearly 18% of all transactions, reflecting the large number of start-up businesses in that area which are successfully growing.

Looking at the overall region, Cambridgeshire led the way with 22, followed by Suffolk with eleven and Essex and Herts with ten apiece.

Healthcare & veterinary dominated transactions with 26%, followed by manufacturing and business support services coming in second at 12% each.

Types of deals were varied, with business sales topping the list at 23, closely followed by 19 fundraising transactions and ten acquisitions.
