Forward East Anglia Market Monitor – August 2017
So it doesn’t appear too many people went on holiday this summer if the number of deals are anything to go by, with 21 reported in the month.
Business sales again were the major transaction type with 9 in total across business services (Fleet Assist, Isotera, Gardline, The Philton Group), manufacturing and engineering (Toolspec, MTR Group, Mirage Machines), technology (Matsoft) and education (Toybox Nursery).
Local businesses were also quite acquisitive with 8 acquisitions completed in the month. Fenn Wright completed 2 acquisitions in to consolidate its position in the East Anglian market. Other acquirers were Ground Control and Vertas Group in business services, One Broker Group in financial services, Acteon and Scientific Digital Imaging in manufacturing and engineering, while MRH acquired another service station forecourts business.
There were also 4 fundraisings in the month with 2 dipping into crowdfunding (The Cheeky Panda and Enertor) with Axol and eMoov raising larger amounts from Calculus Capital and family office respectively.
No doubt there are also a number of transactions that slowed down over the summer, so this bodes well for a healthy Autumn.
