Forward support Bionic on acquisition of Business Comparison

Forward is delighted to have supported ECI portfolio company, the Bionic Group, on its acquisition of Business Comparison, subject to FCA approval.

Business Comparison specialise in helping UK SME’s compare and switch a wide range of essential services, including energy, finance, banking, insurance, telecoms and payment solutions. They do this by leveraging their proprietary technology, website and significant digital marketing knowledge and experience to match SME’s to the most suitable product provider to meet their needs.

Business Comparison, based in Chester, was founded in 2015 by Digitonomy Ltd under the leadership of Philip Brennan, who will continue to run the business and its team under the Bionic Group.

The acquisition of Business Comparison will be the fifth bolt on acquisition to Bionic Group since ECI invested in 2017.

Forward provided support to Bionic during the process, assisting in pulling together a combined financial model to support the acquisition and bank funding.
